The Lord has
blessed us so much. I truly believe his favor is upon our team. When we arrived
in Uganda, we found out that the house our contact situated for us fell
through. So, we were homeless. As we went house shopping we found (according to
World Race standards) a mansion! We thought, surely we could NEVER afford this
house!

As it turned
out, the Lord picked it just for us and it was more than affordable. It cost
half of our lodging budget!!! That has never happened to us! EVER! Here we are
staying in this beautiful mansion of a house (2 bedrooms, small kitchen, living
room, no furniture). It has one shower with hot water! Talk about a miracle.

One night, Aly
was about to take a shower, but a few things needed to happen first aka I
needed to fill my laundry bucket up with water to wash my clothes. As I was
filling it up, the water suddenly ran out completely

We were shocked
because there is a huge water tank outside. I felt bad because I stole Aly’s
shower. Haha. It was quite funny actually.

Aly then
continued trying to turn the shower water on and suddenly I heard a YELP! I ran
into the bathroom to see Aly holding the shower knob in her hand that turns on
and off the water.

Within 5 minutes
the water came back on and now was shooting like a hose across the bathroom.
FLOOD!!! It was hysterical in the moment. We were all running around like
chickens with our heads cut off trying to fix the knob but it couldn’t be
fixed. So we took our cloth washing basins and were trying to keep the water in
the shower (that has no shower curtain) from flowing into our bedrooms. Aly
jumped in the shower (with her clothes on) and shoved her finger into the pipe
to stop it was shooting everywhere.

The
house-help-men came in (mind you it was about 11pm close to midnight) tried to
fix it then left. They didn’t say anything. Granted they don’t speak much
English. But, it was midnight and they disappeard and our shower is still
spitting out water. Finally, they turned the water off. But, they still never
came back to fix it.

The next
morning, Aly and Carin woke up at 6am to the sound of running water. They
decided to turn the water back on without telling us. So, water was shooting
everywhere again!

I decided they
weren’t going to help us out and something needed to be done. So I ran and got
a hose from outside and shoved it into the pipe and then directed the hose
outside a window and into a drain. It was pretty legit how well it worked!

Aly and I still
needed to shower though. So, we showered outside (with our clothes on of
course) under the hose.

It was a blast.
Quite the morning I would say! HAHA. We definitely got some good laughs form
this even though it was annoying at times.
