Less than two months, a couple shots, and $2,500** later, everything is going to change! A new home, new people, new country, a new continent! A new viewpoint, a new heart, new trials, new lessons, new routines, new food, new, new, new!
God is going to be doing some crazy awesome stuff out there, I’m sure of it. Between my squad and the communities we’re going to be immersed in, the amount of grace and love God’s going to be pouring out is gonna be off the charts! And we get to be part of it all.
While I’m still here though, I get in the mentality that I have to wait to see the changes that God has in store. In reality though, God has been shaping me and tossing curve-balls out to prepare me for this race before I even knew it was happening.
Take it in for a second. God had this planned out for a pretty long time. I was born to go away for these nine months, leaving my family and friends and the every day comforts of home to live with strangers and sleep on the ground. I was born to live uncomfortably and recklessly for Jesus. My life belongs to Him and it is His and my desire to serve and love others in His name.
Maybe God has called you into the missions field too, and then again, maybe not. Each body part has its own ways to operate and I’ve never known anyone who’s belly button could do the same thing that they’re eyes are meant to do. Embrace it! You’ve got a special purpose. I’m still learning how to do this. I barely know how to fundraise! And yet God wants me? Courtney Grever, small town Wisconsin girl, never gone on an international missions trip, somewhat awkward converser, to do what? Nine months of radical love, change, and fellowship?
