I started the new year in Muizenberg, South Africa. What a beautiful place to be, just outside of Cape Town, we lived right down the street from the beach. There happened to be three different teams from our squad in Muizenberg. One team was unsung, another partnered with the YWAM base that was there, and our team partnered with a group called J.u.s.t.i.c.e Acts, they started out through YWAM but now are their own organization.
J.u.s.t.i.c.e Acts is an organization that works with and to educate people about human trafficking. They have a presentation that they use to educate people about human trafficking. It shows people what human trafficking can look like and how not to become trafficked. This presentation is called “Trafficked Proof”. The people at J.u.s.t.i.c.e Acts give this presentation within townships in and around Muizenberg.
During my time with J.u.s.t.i.c.e Acts I had the opportunity to go out onto the main highway that many of the girls usually work, we were out looking for conversation and praying over the area as we walked. While we had a group out on the street we had a group back in the office, interceding with prayer.
Because we were there at the start of a new year, we were also able to re-paint and organize their office space and also do some yard work for the walkway into the office. J.u.s.t.i.c.e Acts works with a group called S-Cape, they have safe houses for girls that are rescued. My team and I had the opportunity to paint a mural on the back wall of the property. I had a fun time and was proud of the work I did on the mural, as I have never done a mural before.
We also helped out at one of the townships, we painted big plastic water containers for their aquaponic farm. We cleaned up, garbage and broken glass, in the playground area and a sandy part, where the kids play. It was cool to see the children come out a help the second time we came out.
Over that month I learned much new things. At first I was nervous going into this ministry, but the staff at J.u.s.t.i.c.e Acts did a really good job at training us and pouring into us spiritually as well. Thank you so much.
Muzeinburg, South Africa is a place that I would love to go back to.
Until Next Time.
Prayer Request: I would like to ask for prayer for some of my fellow squad mates. There are still a handful of people that have not met their last finical deadline that was January 1st. I know that this can be a burden on them as they still have to think about fundraising. I ask they you please prayerfully consider donating to one or each one of these amazing people of God, and please share this with family and friends.
