Dear Family and Friends,
Over the last ten years I have been working as a Development Service Worker at Sonshine Families in Orleans. I help care for adults with special needs, and love seeing how much joy and happiness each individual gives back when working with them. When I was a teenager I had the opportunity to go on a mission’s trip to Ukraine to help run a Vacation Bible School for children and to help repair a home for orphan boys. Last year I received the chance to travel to Spain to assist the local missionaries in their efforts to spread the message of God’s love. The time spent on both trips continually shows me how much God’s love is needed in some parts of the world.
After my trip to Spain I felt the Lord pushing me toward a longer trip that would deepen my relationship with Him and stretch my comfort zone to beyond anything I could ever imagine. While researching what God had placed on my heart, I discovered the website for Adventures In Missions (AIM) and read about The World Race. After praying about it, and emailing with staff members of AIM, I felt that God is calling me to serve with AIM on the World Race.
The World Race is an 11 month Christian mission trip to 11 countries around the world. One of the unique things about the World Race is that it’s not only a mission trip but also an intensive discipleship program designed to launch my generation into our specific kingdom calling. Through the World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring the restorative hope of the father’s love to many tribes and nations.
During the World Race I will encounter many challenges, but as I prepare for my departure one of my greatest challenges is my financial support. Like most other mission organizations, World Race participants are required to fundraise financial support. In order to leave fully funded in July 2015, I need to raise $20 000 USD. This money covers all of my field expenses for the 11 months of the trip as well as my supplies. As I take this huge step of faith in trusting the Lord, would you prayerfully consider making a single time donation or a monthly donation of $50 USD. If only 50 people pledge $50 USD a month for 8 months than I will meet my goal and leave fully funded in July 2015.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. If you have any questions I am happy to answer them. You can email me at [email protected] you can also visit my blog at courtneygoddard.theworldrace.org to find out more about me and follow my journey.
