Sorry for the wait. I have been having a hard time putting my thought to paper. Here is a bit from my month in Namibia. I was in Namibia in December.

Our ministry in Namibia was at an orphanage. We spent the month loving on these kids. The children that stay at this orphanage either have one parent or none. And if they have a parent they are unable to take care of them due to addiction they usually have. This orphanage has around 84 children living in it. However the month of December is Christmas break and most of the kids go back to the communities they are from for Christmas. For the first couple of weeks there were around 30 children, then the week of Christmas there were only about a dozen kids there.

Sometimes all you can do is love, and let God take it from there. Over the course of the month we coloured with them, did bible stories, played ball, went to the public pool, and made a Christmas dinner. We even laid on the ground stared at the stars and listened to worship music. We let these children be kids. That’s what God want to.

Most of the kids in the orphanage were girls. So something I did pretty much everyday was to become a life-sized Barbie. What little girl doesn’t want to do someone else’s hair? Their faces when we (7 girls with long hair) said yes, to them, to be able to do our hair was priceless. Having three or four girls braided my hair at once ends up looking interesting.

You don’t always have to buy things to be able to help someone out, sometimes all it will cost you is TIME. A lot of the time that is more valued and appreciated then any high price item that money can buy.

Until Next Time.
