Have you ever been in the ocean? The rolling tide, the waves and the under tow. I spent my off day in the ocean. I sat on my knees talking to God as each wave pounded into me. I realized that this moment could easily describe my life.
Let me explain: the ocean as a whole is my life, there are days of calm and days of raging waves. When you step into the ocean you are entering a life with God. The further you go into the ocean the closer you are with God. At high tide you can feel the
difference if you stand a few feet into the ocean than if you were to knee a few feet into the ocean. The under tow is super powerful. The deeper you go the easier it is to be pulled by the wrong things. To do the wrong things.
The deeper I went I found that it’s easier to stand my ground against the waves when I was kneeling than standing. I felt more grounded when kneeling. More connected to something. Even though I was being pounded by the waves more at times, I felt safer
and more secure in where I knelt. I could feel the power of the ocean pushing and pulling me. Sometimes I couldn’t control as I was being dragged out to sea. I dug my feet into the depth of the sand, holding my ground, so I wouldn’t be overwhelmed by the waves.
At other times I dug my feet deeper into the sand in the is opposite way as the force of the waves try to push me into the shore.
There are times in life when events or people try to knock you down to destroy all that God has done in your life. When this happens there are three outcomes that will happen. Unfortunately only one of these outcomes will deepen the connection between
you and God. The other two will push you away. Sometimes far away. Which will please the devil.
Situation one: something or someone will be like a wave that pushes you into the shore this in turn will make you question your faith and stray from the path that God has for you. God will become just something that you hear/read about and not be the one
that can save you from your pain.
Situation two: something or someone will be like the under tow it will overcome you making it feel as though you are drowning. Two things could happen, one you could ask God for help and you will once again find that deep sand to brace your self or fear
creeps in and you become paralyzed. During this time men save you, however they can do this by carrying you out onto the shore. Which then leaves you questioning weather or not God is real. Why would he let you almost drown?
Situation three: when something or someone try’s to push and pull in either direction, which in turn makes you go deeper. Getting lower into the heart of the wave or under tow. Once there you give all your worries, all your pain to God. Praise him and
talk to him. Tell him everything. In doing this, time will not matter. Then a calm will come and it’s over. After you will find your self deeper in that sand then when the wave first came. You find that you are deeper in God.
Philippians 4:13
"I can do everything through him who gives me strength."
I’m not saying that you will not move forward or back but in the end you will be stronger. Stronger physically, but more importantly stronger spiritual.
Matthew 21:21-22
"…if you have faith and do not doubt,…If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer."
Matthew 9:29
"According to your faith will be done to you"
Don’t let hardships get you down. Learn from them and let them help you to become stronger in your faith with God.
Luke 6:46-49
"Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice. He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When
flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck
that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete."
My life is like an ocean.
Until Next Time.
