These are not listed in particular order.
1. It’s harder to change in a porter potty and not tip it over then you might think
2. When travelling make sure you can live off of what’s inside your daypack in case your big pack gets delayed at the airport.
3. When it rains…its pours.
4. Make sure you test everything before you leave, in all kinds of weather, you don’t want to leave and realize that something won’t work. For example finding out that your tent isn’t waterproof and it rains for 4 days. (My tent….not waterproof)
5. No matter how many times you tell yourself, the hills will be easier at the end of the 10 days…don’t bet on it.
6. It’s ok to let it all out and cry.
7. When put into a group that you might be unsure of, don’t withdraw. It might be the best thing that will/can happen to you.
8. When looking at a space to set up camp and think… Yup sure 49 people will have lots of space. Just remember there is actually about 80 people because each persons big pack is about the side of a person. So you really need a space big enough for twice as many people than you actually have.
9. A fire can improve anybody’s mood. Especially when it’s pouring and all you have are tarps.
10. T-Squad owns squad wars!
11. 200 strangers CAN become family within 10 days.
Please pray for All squads (R, T, U), as we are leaving in a week. Please pray for each family as well. Leaving family and friends are hard, but with Gods grace, good things are coming even through hard times.
Until Next Time.
