Here the days start at 4:30 am.
Here it is hotter than hot.
Here the days consist of poopy diapers, diarrhea, and dirty laundry.
Here we eat rice and beans. A lot.
Here “alone time” is non-existent.
But here we get to see the sun rise.
But here cold showers are a bliss.
But here we love on children.
But here we eat.
But here we are learning to love each other.
Here is where we are.
Here is where our feet are planted.
Here is where God has placed us.
Right here.
Right now.
And right here and right now is where we get to choose our attitude.
Your attitude is entirely in your control.
It doesn’t matter what circumstances may tell you.
It’s your choice.
We can look at the hot days,
And the poopy diapers,
And the rice and beans,
And complain about it.
Or we can thank God
For sunshine,
And kids to love on,
And food to eat,
And opportunities to serve.
And right here
And right now
You get to choose your attitude too.
What’s it gonna be?
Because right here,
And right now,
You can choose joy.
