Valentines Day… It has been given many other names over the
years, such as, “Heart Day or “Singleness Awareness Day, but they all have to
do with LOVE. Valentines Day is a day set aside to share how you feel about
others.
“On one day, February 14th, Americans spend more
money to say, ‘I love you’ with Valentines Day cards than that which is spent
in the whole month of February (and each of the other months) to tell a lost
and dying world that God loves them! Does our lifestyle, as Jesus said, tell us
where our heart is? (Read Luke 12:13-34). -Serving as Senders by Neal Pirolo.
While I encourage you to share how you feel with the
important people in your life, I also would like to challenge you in how you do
that. Is a bouquet of $50 roses that will die in two weeks the best way to show
you care? I know girls like flowers, but personally, I’d prefer a hand written
note to anything bought in a store.
Might I suggest a gift with a lasting impact, one that could
effect someone’s eternity? Consider making a donation toward spreading the
message of GOD’S LOVE to a community who are called the “forgotten people.
After the violence that followed the 2007 elections in Kenya, Africa many
families were forced to leave their homes, their jobs and some even their
family members to live as refugees in Internally Displaced People camps. Now, 3
years later they are “forgotten people living below poverty level and in need
of hope. Your donation will help bring them hope through empowering change and
sharing the message of God’s love.
Donations can be made online through this link: Make a donation
I’ve attached a certificate that you can print as a gift for someone you care about letting them know that you have made a donation on their behalf.

Making a donation is one way you can share God’s love this
Valentines Day. I encourage you to think of other creative ways to make this
Valentines Day reflect the abundant, unfailing love of God!
