Last night, I was asking the Lord for answers, for guidance
in a decision. He told me to go to Kroger (grocery store). I did not really
understand how I would find answers at a grocery store and I had just been
shopping a few days ago, so I didn’t really need any groceries. I questioned
God’s direction and asked Him again.
This time He said “Courtney, go to Kroger! and lighting made the TV
(which was off) make a loud sparking flash. I said, “Okay, I’ll go to Kroger.
I left the house thinking that Kroger was the store just
down the street, but soon realized that that was a Publix. Logic would tell you, I
should be able to go to any grocery store and that is would
use a lot more gas
and time to find a Kroger, but God had been clear… I had seen the Kroger sign.
So I used my GPS to locate a Kroger near me. I had trouble deciding which one
to go to and finally started driving toward the one in Buford, since I could do
other shopping there. Along the way, I saw the road to Flowery Branch (which
had stuck out to me every time I’ve driven past) and I quickly decided to
reroute to that Kroger. Along the way, I must have past at least 8 Publix, not
to mention all the other grocery stores and I was wondering “Why Kroger? About
that time I past a church, whose message board read “Christ will never mislead
you. It restored my faith that there truly were answers at Kroger, and I
continued driving.
As I walked the aisle of Kroger getting some groceries, I
happened upon Marisa. She was a bit surprised to see me shopping so far from
Gainesville and asked what I was doing there. I told her God had told me to go
to Kroger. She was still surprised that I had ended up at this Kroger, since
there apparently was one closer to home.
We chatted and I shared my heart with her (standing by the soap). She
listened, brought some things to light, and then prayed for me. She encouraged
me to not act out of fear (love casts out all fear) and she reminded me that I
hear the voice of the Lord… I was at Kroger after all. Before she left, she
mentioned that she normally does not shop here either. Seems God had planned a divine appointment at Kroger.
