ABOUT ME
church with my Mom (my dad was not a Christian until I was in High School). I
personally accepted Christ when I was in Middle School. I graduated from Minnetonka High School
in 2002 and from Crown College in 2006 with a teaching degree, and a second
major in Christian Studies. I love
working with kids. I spent the past two years teaching 6th grade at
Rift Valley Academy, a missionary school in Kenya, Africa. I’ve been involved
in mission work since my freshman year of high school.
I was an only child for 10 years before my little sister,
Kelly, was born. She was planned by the way. Everyone says we look so much alike. My dad is a
design-engineering manager and my mom is an IT person at Hopkins public schools.
I am super close with my parents and consider them close friends. Both my parents are supportive of me
and are there for me. Leaving them
is the hardest part about doing mission work. All of my extended relatives
except one aunt and uncle live in Minnesota and most within an hours drive. We
spend holidays together and birthdays too, so we see each other often. When my aunt told my cousin Noah I was
going on the World Race, he excitedly said, “around the world in 80 days?” and
was disappointed to hear I’d be gone for 11 months.
