So, I have some news.
!VIVA HONDURAS!
I kinda found out when I signed up for this World Race thing that I was in for the ride of my life. And that I am not in control of this ride…my job is to just say "YES, Lord!"
That being said, due to flight costs and the difficulties of finding tickets because of the Olympics and such, we are now heading to Central America first- Honduras, Guatemala, and then Nicaragua. We will then head to Europe, then to Asia, and then to Africa! Same countries, just different order.
So in true World Race style, after an overnight bus ride, we are sitting at JFK airport in New York city waiting to fly into Costa Rica. From there we will take a bus to Nicaragua, stay in a hostel for the night, and continue to Honduras tomorrow!
Another exciting bit of news with this…for this first month, my entire squad will be at the same location! Our teams will be working with different ministries, but we will all be living in the same place and working with the same contact! What an unexpected blessing. The Lord has something special for this squad!!
To be honest, I could not be more excited. For those of you who know me, Latin culture is the joy of my heart. Seriously. Excited to polish up on my Spanish and eat mangoes! I have such a peace about this change…and not just a peace, but an overflowing holy anticipation!
I have always loved Latin music, but the past week or so before I left, I became obsessed with Christian salsa. Sign? I think so!
As a former racer told me, route changes are the best because God clearly has a specific purpose for us to be in a certain place at a certain time. Bring it on! I am pumped!!
Continue to pray for me as I pray for you!
Blessings and love, my friends!
xox.
