Nueva Vida.
New Life.
This is the name of the ministry I am working with this month. And I see it. I feel it. I believe it. Because everywhere I look around here, I see new life happening.
I am in the town of Jinotepe, Nicaragua for the month…and already, I'm wondering how I am going to say goodbye.
This month for me is full of newness. Each of my days are filled with life and light. Every day looks different- visiting nursing homes, special needs home, doing home visits in the Barrios, prayer walks, church services and meetings, praying for the sick in the hospital, helping at a preschool, building relationships with the youth and families in the church (even by helping to work in the market or bake bread!)…and many days of ATL (Ask the Lord aka.. we ask God what He wants us to do that day and then we do it!). Oh yeah, and somehow I was volunteered to fill in and be the singer for worship on Sundays…this month is all kinda new!
And the people here…especialy the young people…they are full of new life. I hear their testimonies and I see their boldness and faith-and I know this city is in for an awakening. I don't mean a rude awakening…I mean a Holy Spirit awakening. And it is my joy to impart to them everything I have as they grow in their faith…and it is my joy to receive from them as well.
The new life I see being stirred up here is being stirred up in my heart as well. I am slowly peeling back the layers around my heart and letting them fall away. I look at the things I have simply allowed to have a hold on my spirit and heart for far too long and am saying "no more." I am walking out of places of darkness and confusion and into places of new dreams and visions.
Ironically, before I knew a thing about this month or my minstry, God told me I was going to walk into new things this month. The word "newness" has been written all over my spirit.
And He is faithful.
There's so much happening here it's hard to know where to start. Look out for more blogs soon!
IMPORTANT: My squads fundraising deadline is approaching quickly, October 1st! I am in a pretty desperate personal financial situation still, but more than anything I do not want my squadmates to go home.
If you would prayerfully consider donating, there are still a few who need help in the next couple of weeks. I have listed a couple of them below. Visit their blogs to support them or learn more!
Kayla Jobe (one of the people who has changed my life this trip and who has a whoa powerful anointing- God's got all kinda plans for this one.)
