Woah. The last few months have just flown by! I’m not exactly sure where time has gone!! Between weddings, training camp, finishing up work and fundraisers, it’s been a crazy busy but memorable last few months.
I’ve been writing up blogs but not getting the chance to post them so this will be a very informative one of my journey in the last few months.

As most of you know, my sister (Carolyn) was married to Nathan Goddard on June 27th 2915. The preparation for this very exciting day was a little crazy considering it was held at our family cottage on Kasshabog Lake. The day turned out to be absolutely perfect in every way and I’m beyond happy for the newly weds.
A week after the wedding my parents dove me to Ohio where I met up with some squad mates to drive down to Georgia for Training Camp.
After a few Starbucks stops, lots of laughs, singing and some good quality bonding, we arrived at the Adventures in Missions Campus.
Training Camp in a nut shell was a whirlwind of stretching people, sweat, team building and fun.
In ten days we had the chance to meet our whole squad of 47 people. We were stretched beyond our comfort zones. We were able to form strong relationships and most importantly connect with God in some awesome ways.
For me personally God was able to show me that he has me on this race for a reason. I might not know what that reason is, but he’s going to show me. And he also was able to show me that I can do it. It’s comforting to know that with his strength, I can do this race.
During Training Camp we were given a bunch of scenarios of things that might happen to us on the race (I.e. Airport night. We slept in an airport simulator) We also were introduced to some foods that we will be eating on the race. Throughout the week we attended about 25 sessions to help us prepare mentally, physically, spiritually and emotionally. And the worship was my favourite part.
I also really enjoyed watching our team form this crazy bond over just ten days. I can call these people my family now and I’m so excited to do life with them this year.
After Training Camp I came home to my last two weeks of work. My goodbyes were bitter sweet because I’m going to miss all my babies and my support crew, but I’m also excited for this new chapter of my life to begin.
Since I’ve returned from training camp we (my family and I) have been in full-force fundraising mode. My goal is to be fully funded before I leave so that I don’t have the stress of fundraising while I’m on the field.
Let me just tell you. God has blown my expectations out of the water. I can’t even express how thankful I am for how much God has provided for me in these last few weeks. I knew from the beginning that if he wanted me to go on this trip, he would provide and I’m so in awe of how awesome he is. It also helps that I have the most amazing support team. My family, extended family and close friends have all been soooo amazing and there aren’t enough words to truly express how thankful I actually am. Thankyou from the bottom of my heart. (You know who you are)
Something I’m learning right now is that we are put through trials and tribulations in preparation for future challenges we may face. I’ve experienced almost every emotion in the last few days/weeks and as much as it can suck, I have peace knowing that God has a greater plan for it all and I can only follow him with little steps of faith. It’s pretty awesome to look back and see all the little places God has shown up, even in this journey so far. I can only imagine how crazy things are going to be when we set out on the race.
So that’s all the updates I have for you right now:) Thankyou for spending the time to read my journey update and I apologize for taking so long to get this up:)
Prayer Request: The enemy is not happy that we are leaving in 25 days so I ask that you would pray for peace and courage as I face challenges between now and launch.
Also I am praying for generous hearts for those around me to help me reach my final goal before I leave.
Fundraiser update: I am almost fully funded. I have about $2,000 more to raise and then I’m done!! #25days
Thankyou!!
Until next time!!
