 This subject has been on my heart a lot lately….
It kinda started when many of my fellow Racers had mentioned that their home churches wouldn’t support them or even in some cases that were not permitted to even discuss the fact that they were going on the Race at church. I was in total shock! Why on earth would your church not be down with you going on a mission trip?!?!
All of them answered with because it is not with their denomination. I was even more shocked and broken hearted!
Personally that was one of the things I liked best about the World Race! Because we will be coming together in unity to spread the word of Jesus Christ around the world!
 
Unity
Definition:  

1. the state or quality of being one; oneness
2. the act, state, or quality of forming a whole from separate parts
3.

something whole or complete that is composed of separate parts
 
 
 
My question is where is unity in the church?

Let me define church for you first…..

 
Church is NOT a building
 
Church is a group of believers
 
The church separated several years ago into what we now call “denominations.” Basically everyone didn’t agree on a few issues in the Bible so we separated.
Because of those “disagreements” we don’t tend to associate with other “churches.”
When we get down to the bottom of it all…. What matters is that we all believe that Jesus Christ came to die on a cross to save us from our sins. If we are all based on Rock of our Salvation…. Why do we fight/argue/criticize each other over the silliest things?
All of us TOGETHER consist of the Bride! Of the Body of Christ!
Paul wrote about this issue in Romans!
 
  3 For by the grace given to me, I tell everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he should think. Instead, think sensibly, as God has distributed a measure of faith to each one. 4 Now as we have many parts in one body, and all the parts do not have the same function, 5 in the same way we who are many are one body in Christ and individually members of one another. 6 According to the grace given to us, we have different gifts:
If prophecy, use it according to the standard of faith;
    7 if service, in service; if teaching, in teaching;
    8 if exhorting, in exhortation; giving, with generosity;
leading, with diligence; showing mercy, with cheerfulness.  
Romans  12:3-8
