Quite a day yesterday…..
The day started off with getting up really early and driving to Greenwood to receive my vaccines. Little did I know how this would turn out….Slightly scared that it was going to hurt so bad that I couldn’t go to work, and that I would receive “flu like symptoms” after words. I get there and I’m waiting for the nurse to come out and get me like they always do. To my surprise, my Doctor came out to get me, and he took me to his office where he asked me a lot of health questions and specifics on the Race. He went over every vaccine without using medical terms that I couldn’t understand and making sure that it was all making sense to me. He even gave me tips about skin, tampons ect ect. I’m so impressed at this point! Then he tells me that some of my shots I can get cheaper elsewhere and he gives me their numbers! Then he proceeds to tell me that if me or my teammates need anything or have questions while on the field to just give him a call or send him an e-mail AND he gave me his personal ones! When we are done he takes me to his nurse so that I can get my shots. I look at the time and I was talking to him for almost an hour and a half!! I’m like WOW! His nurse comes in and introduces herself and proceeds to tell me more about my shots (stuff he already told me) but she was so nice as she kept talking to me as she injected the vaccines into my arms. She proceeds to tell me that she’d love to get me info on all the countries that I’m going to….stuff like the cultural norms, religion ect. After the shots and talking for another 30-45 mins I go to pay and they give me a discount because of what I’m doing! I walk out of there with so much JOY and THANKFULNESS!! My Heavenly Father takes care of us in such great ways : )
Second part of the day was my Spaghetti Dinner/Silent Auction Fundraiser! Thanks to everyone who helped put it on and sponsored the event! The support that I received was WONDERFUL! I really appreciate each and every one of my supports! I really couldn’t fulfill God’s plan for my life if it wasn’t for y’all. Y’all are part of God’s plan and I can’t wait to see what God is going to do through you and me as we take this journey together! He’s going to break us all as we travel around the world loving people like Jesus did, showing them that there is hope, love and peace in Jesus Christ.
I’ve almost made it to my second goal of $6,000 which has to be made by September 24thbut my goal is to make my third deadline of $10,500 by 1/7/2012 and final goal of $14,300 due by 4/7/2012.
