This month is woman-istry and man-istry! Which means that the men and women are seperated for the whole month. So this month Renee is my leader (YAY!) and we have 4 other girls from Jeremy's team…. Kat (Jeremy's wife), Laura, Jaime and Kelly! The 8 of us are having so much fun together and experiencing God is a whole new way!
I had the honor of sharing my 23rd birthday with Jeremy & Kat's 4th Wedding Anniversary. We called it our "AnniBirthAry" creative, right? I decided not to have any expectations because it's the Race and you never know what can and will happen. I woke up to Kelly's beautiful bubbly face wishing me a Happy Birthday! I walk out and Kat & I have our own chairs full of cards, candy, gum and cokes! Good start to the day, right? Then we headed to ministry, first day working in the hospital! We had our orientation and tour of the hospital. With two teams here we decided to route the different ministries. For 8 days my team will be selling puppy coin purses to fund free heart surgeries for children who's families can't afford them. Next we will work with a soup kitchen for people addicted to drugs. Also with a center for the blind. On Wednesday nights we will work in the red district building relationships with prostitutes. Also, there's an IHOP here! I'M SO EXCITED!
After ministry we went out to celebrate Kat & I's Annibirthary at Chili's!! Yes, Renee found a Chili's for us to go to! Can anyone say real coke and QUESO!! We all ate way too much! LOL! We got home and started team time. While listening to a podcast, all of a sudden Alyssa's time comes in singing Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary with a HOMEADE CAKE!!! It was so good! and so unexpected! Thank you all for such a wonderful and memorable birthday!
