Success builds confidence, trials build character
God keeps rolling this phrase around in my head. About one month ago he gave me a word about
those times that it seems you’ve been put through the fire and come out with
nothing to show for it. In those moments
it may appear in the physical sense that nothing glorifying has come out of
your suffering, but when you weather a storm God is building the character of
Christ in you. Your physical shoulders
my feel slumped and small, but your spiritual shoulders are taller and broader
than they’ve ever been. You see, in a
season when we step out in faith and experience success we feel a new sense of boldness
and confidence to affect our world. When
we work, push, pray, and endure through a difficult season we are refined and our faith is perfected. We ask the questions and face the doubts that
make our faith stronger and remind us to see the forest above the trees.
Romans 5:3-4
perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.“
