Expectations.
We all have them no matter what we’re stepping into. However, I’ve done my fair share of blog reading and video watching to know that we, as racers, are supposed to leave our expectations at home.
Once we confirmed our spot on the race we were asked to think about our expectations and write a little about them.
So here are just a few of my expectations that I want to leave here in the States so God can work in big ways before, during, and after the trip.
I expect to be in situations that require me to venture out of my comfort zone.
I expect to miss my family and friends like crazy.
I expect to experience God in ways that I never thought imaginable with some pretty amazing people.
I expect to have some crazy adventures throughout the year.
I expect to get really sick at least once.
I expect to be broken.
I expect to experience cultures that will make me uncomfortable at times.
I expect to spend a lot of time with kids—and love it!
I expect to make friends that will soon become family.
I expect to eat crazy food that will probably make me sick at times.
I expect to get lice. (I just have a feeling that I’m probably going to be one of those people haha).
I expect to come to a place where I am completely and utterly dependent on Christ.
I expect to be changed.
These are just a few of the things that I’ve been thinking about lately. I want to lay them all down so I can experience the trip that God has planned for me, not one that I’m “planning” myself. Please pray for me as I give it all to God.
