Ok. Let's just say that the Lord has got
a sense of humor.
Yesterday, we visited 3 villages.
But there was a spirit of agitation
over most of my team.
Having your picture taken everywhere you go
or constantly being followed can wear on you.
Adventures in Missions requires that each team
have a time for feedback everyday.
It can be positive or constructive.
Constructive is not bad; it is simply a way of
calling our brothers and sisters into greatness.
So as we were talking, I reminded the team
that on days that we don't have a good attitude,
we still need to choose to have a positive
attitude.
On the way to our final village, Jesus and I
had some good alone time.
It was pretty much just a time of his peace
washing over me and me thinking that there
was no place I would rather be.
Man did I eat my words.
We had about a 3 hour ride back to our original
village, so I decided to pull out my iPad and
watch a movie.
While this was refreshing, it was also kind of
tough because everytime I looked outside, I thought
"Oh, yeah, I'm in India."
I thought about home a lot.
But that's not even what this is about.
About halfway through the movie, I realized that
my purse was on my lap.
i decided I didn't want to carry it anymore,
so I put it in the back.
I looked back a while later.
It had fallen out.
At that point, it was too late.
i had no idea when it had fallen out, and chances
were someone had already picked it up.
Sooo….
Lost all my money, my debit card and drivers license.
Lost my journals and my Bible.
Lost my friends ipod, both our flash drives,
and her motion sickness medicine.
Lost my camera.
The one my mom had just bought for me.
Awesome.
Choose a positive attitude, Courtney.
Haha.
I can laugh about it now because
I had no idea what I was saying when I
encouraged my team with that.
The peace from earlier that day seemed to come back.
Does it suck that I lost my stuff?
You bet.
But praise God my passport wasn't in there.
Or my IPad.
Praise God that the Bible WAS in there.
Now all I can do is pray that it falls into the
right person's hands.
That they know English and can read the Bible,
and that they would come to know the Lord.
It's weird.
As much as I'm upset that I lost my stuff,
I still want to praise God.
We bring the sacrifice of praise
into the house of the Lord.
