The most surprising part of the ministry that we have
done this month has been driving the children around in their rainbow colored
bus! The only person that knew how to drive the bus before we arrived was a
part time volunteer who was not here most of the time. This means that the
children had to walk to school every day.

Since the bus is a stick shift and Jeff and I have never
driven stick before, our team leader Lindsay spent a day teaching us to drive.
It was definitely a trial and error way to learn with more stall outs than I
could count, but by the end of the day, we were able to make it down the
cobblestone road that we live on without any problems.

From that day forward, we have been driving the kids to
school, to the store, to the park, to church, and to pretty much anywhere and
everywhere that they need to go. I never thought that I would learn to drive
stick shift, let alone get to use that ability to serve the children here in
Bolivia. On top of that, I was actually able to teach another one of the
orphanage volunteers how to drive so that when we leave the bus driving legacy
will continue. We have not just given them fish, we have taught them to fish!
