Over the weekend God interrupted me and it was pretty nice. I was asked to help out at a surprise 80th birthday party this past weekend. I was so excited to help because I adore the family, Papa who was turning 80 has always treated me as an extension of his own granddaughter, and because I am asking God to grow a servants heart in me.

We start set up and my sole job was to just fill drinks and help the elderly at the party with getting their plates. (I’ll admit it has been years since I have done any serving so I was pretty tired half way in) So many people came up to me and asked what I was going now, where I was going next, and  what God had in store next that by the time Lauren brought her uncle John over I had a perfectly timed spill ready to go.

Here is where God interrupted me. Uncle John asked me to back up and tell him about my first mission trip so I recalled my first Medical mission trip to Mexico, then to Africa, then back to Mexico and then now the World Race. He listened intently to everything and at the end he said, “whoa what a once in a lifetime trip”. Then he said, “actually Mexico was probably a once in a lifetime experience. I can’t imagine the feeling of be able to keep going. How do you think God will top this?”

I stared blankly…I have no clue how God could top this…but I also didn’t think God could top Mexico. Or Africa. Or the worship experiences this past January in Mexico. So I can’t see how He could top what He is getting me ready for but I know chances are…He will.

Uncle John then looked at me with tears in his eyes and thanked me for sharing what Christ has done in my life. He had been struggling with his faith for the past few weeks and had been begging God for a sign of His love. (Of course at this point I am crying too. Oh hi teammates, I am emotional for Jesus)

I am going to Spain, Morocco, Jordan, Israel, Cyprus, Georgia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgystan, Mongolia and then China. I am MOVING to Spain in August!!!

We had a few blog prompts, things about the countries we are going to, (I will share a teammates blog for that) something God is teaching us in the waiting to go, and at the present time I cannot remember the other prompts. I think this is a good time to reflect on how God is preparing me (that may be the one I cannot remember)…how to be simply interrupted when there is larger labor task at hand.
