Hey, friends! I don’t have much time to write this post, but I wanted to give a quick update on what Team Geronima (incase you missed it, that’s what my 6-woman World Race team calls ourselves) is up to this month.
We’re staying in Skopje, Macedonia –the capital city– in a neighborhood called Shutka, the gypsy capital of the world! We’re staying in room at a local church and helping out with some of its ministries. We have some flexibility this month and we’re still trying to nail down a schedule, but so far we’ve been helping out with the “soup kitchen” that the church hosts weekdays at lunchtime, primarily playing with the kids. We’ll also be doing prayer walks through the streets (Shutka has a dense Muslim population) and helping to clean up the church building and surrounding yard (seen in the pics above). There are some other ideas for ministries up in the air, but I’ll share more on that later.
Traveling to Macedonia was an exhausting and long endeavor so I feel like we’ve only just begun to settle into our ministry. I look forward to sharing more stories, AND PICTURES, on here soon!
Side note: I feel very at home here, as I do in most foreign lands. :]
Also, GREAT NEWS! I’m almost 70% funded for my World Race. THAT IS CRAZY INSANE. I’ve only been committed to this thing for about 3.5 months, and LOOK HOW MUCH GOD HAS DONE! Only a little over $5,000 to go, and I’m only in Month One. WAHOO! Please continue to prayerfully consider supporting me on my World Race journey. I have upcoming deadlines that I must meet in order to stay on this trip. Thanks so much to everyone for all the support, prayers and encouragement so far!
