These highly uncharacteristic snow/ice storms in Texas have been a blessing in disguise for me as I work on catching up – both on sleep and preparing for the World Race! It seems like these past 7 months since I got home from Spain have passed by so quickly and now I’m worried (and also excited) that the next few will as well!

Somehow, before I applied, my mind refused to think about the idea of fundraising beyond the vague “it’ll all work out.” Now I am feeling a little pressured by my first deadline and wishing I had gotten that application finished sooner. At least I’ve always worked faster under pressure! Despite my enduring faith that, through God, it will all work out, this is the reason, when I originally daydreamed about the idea of being an overseas missionary, that I decided I would be the kind of missionary who has a full-time job in-country to pay the bills, instead of relying on other people to support me.

(It seems like every time I make these “I’ll never!” or “I’ll always!” statements about my career, I end up doing the opposite. But to me, that’s just further evidence of God at work in my life.)

So here I find myself writing, and editing, and reediting my support letter. You may be reading this blog because you got one of those letters in the mail (because I am praying that I will be able to send them out this week yet doubtful I will have a new post up by the time people receive them). If so, welcome! If not, welcome all the same!

I hope that you will prayerfully consider supporting me in any way that you can. Through your prayers as I seek donations and once my race has started. Through your monetary donations (you can find the Support Me link at the top-left of this page). Through referrals or sharing my blog with people you know who may be able to help.

Dios le bendiga! God bless you!

Enjoying the beauty while it lasts!
