You may think that we World Racers
spend all our time either in deep spiritual conversations, jumping
off waterfalls, or leading large groups of children in “Jesus Loves
Me.” There are time we do a lot of those things, but there are also
times when we are laughing our heads off at the ridiculous things we
encounter in other countries. Here's a short list of some of the
greatest moments so far:
-
Spinning in circles with a
giggling preschooler -
Goofing off with teammates at my
favorite park in Bucharest (the Swan Park) -
Filming a team music video in
Malawi -
Naming every creature that
skittered through our room in Malawi – frogs, millipedes, spiders,
and lizards. Lots of lizards. -
Witnessing a goat (Malawi) and pig
(Zambia) transported by being tied onto the back of a bicycle. The
pig was much more at peace with it's current situation. Also,
witnessing a man carrying a basket full of fish into the line at the
bank. Only in Africa… -
Holding babies for hours
-
Smiling at the crowds of children
who sat through Bible studies just because there were white people
there -
Eating french fries for breakfast
-
Doing yoga under the stars
-
Having dinner by candlelight
because the power is out (again) -
Eating delicious pastries in
Romania -
Feeding baby goats and squealing
over the newborn pigs and lamb -
Being attacked by cockroaches and
chickens in Zambia
