Buenos dias from Lima!
After two stressful, sleepless travel days (followed by 3 glorious days of rest, orientations, and even a little ministry) we have settled into our comfy home in the big city! That’s right, we’re finally living in the city! It’s a very strange feeling to once again be in a country I haven’t seen for 5 years, but it also feels a little like coming home – we get to go through Cusco on our way to Bolivia at the end of March, and that’s going to feel even weirder.
My next post is going to include a few of the interviews I did with the Starfish kids last month, but today’s is more about reminiscing. I recently shared 11 things I’d done for the very first time in the course of the Race, but now I want to look back on 11 things I’ve done again while on this journey.
1. Gotten passport stamps for Romania, Bulgaria, and Peru
2. Watched lots of movies on international flights
3. Surprised people by being able to speak Spanish
4. Seen the world’s strangest statue in Bucharest
5. Eaten cuy (guinea pig)
6. Stepped foot on 5 continents – this time within the span of seven months though!
7. Taken trains and the metro in Romania
8. Attempted to find ingredients in foreign grocery stores
9. Wandered through the Swan Park, my favorite park in Bucharest
10. Nerded out over ruins and historic buildings
11. Had an absolute blast while traveling!
And a bonus! (Because we’ll have done ministry in 12 countries by the time we finish the Race.)
12. Dyed my hair!
