Meet the lovely ladies of my new team: Meredith, Rachel, Maggie, Katie, and Jessica.
We wanted to come up with a new team name, and not keep the one they previously had, to signify a new start, a blank canvas. After much consideration we decided on An Geadh-Glas. This essentially means Spirit chasers. It is a Celtic Christian term for the Wild Goose, which is what they call the Holy Spirit. We got the idea from a book Meredith was reading and here is an expert describing the meaning behind our name a little more.
“The name hints at the mysterious nature of the Holy Spirit. Much like a wild goose, the Spirit of God cannot be tracked or tamed. An element of danger and an air of unpredictability surround Him. And while the name may sound a little sacrilegious at first earshot, I cannot think of a better description of what it’s like to pursue the Spirit’s leading through life than Wild Goose chase.”
We want to chase what God has in store for us on this race. We want to be lead by the Holy Spirit. What better way to remind ourselves of that than making it our team name.
In India we will be working with Sarah’s Covenant Home, a place for kids with special needs who have been abandoned. I cannot wait to love on the precious children there. I also cannot wait to get to know me new teammates, to hear their stories and to share mine, to grow deeper and dive into what God has in store for us.Please partner in prayer with us as we go.
