Hi, I'm Corinna! I'm so excited to go on world race. I love God so much and have a big passion for helping other people come to love him too. When I found out about world race I knew that God was calling me to this. I had to pay back some loans before I could even think about applying and when I thought it would take another year. God provided and now I have applied and been accepted.
I grew up in a non-Christian home with a semi-Christian step dad. My step dad took me to church on Sundays and that is how I was introduced to Christ. When my mom and step dad divorced at about the age of 8 I stopped going to church. I was raised by a very loving and caring mom but she did not attend church. I still felt the call from God throughout my childhood. When I was sixteen I was invited to go a event at a local church at the end we were asked to pray the prayer of salvation. I didn't understand the full meaning of it at the time but I knew I believed in Jesus and wanted him in my life. The next few years I went on living my life. I loved God and prayed to him and tried to read my bible but I didn't have a church and no Christian friends so I just did want everyone else did at school. I didn't know that I was living a sinful life and that there was hope for a better one.
When in my 20's I met a Christian a work and she invited me to church. I jumped at the chance to go because I had been feeling the need to find a church. I liked going but just not every week. I felt it hard sometimes to understand their views and teachings. I didn't want to change "too much". I though "what's wrong with that". Until one day a sermon changed my life. I fully gave my life to God and prayed that my life would be his.The more I leaned about God the closer I grew to Him. My questions were answered and my views were changed in ways I thought impossible. Now years later I can not imagine my live with out God. He is the center of everything I do. I'm so thankful that God is a pursuing God and that he loves me that much. Now I want to serve him by being his hands and feet and spreading his love around the world.
A few things about myself:
– I have one younger brother (he's 28 years old). I'm older than I look!
– I grew up in Chilliwack, BC the dairy farm part of the province.
– I am a Medical Lab Assistant in Kelowna, BC. If you don't know what that is I will give you a hint: I work in the hospital and people call me a vampire.
– I'm a cat lover. My long-haired Kitty's name is Princess.
– Gymnastics and judo are my favorite sports. I like gymnastics more but am better at judo.
– Love extreme sports. I've been sky diving, white water rafting, zip lining and rode an elephant while it peed in a garbage can. I call that extreme!
– I'm an artist but haven't painted anything in a few years.
