Our new ministry for this month is in Hungary. We are helping out at a prayer retreat run by Brett and Sena. You can check out their website at www.mhop-hungary.com . They run retreats for teens and young adults, teaching them new ways to pray and develop a closer relationship with God. Fifty two percent of the population in Hungary are Roman Catholic , many only because it is a family tradition. Brett and Sena want to help the young people of Hungary come to know Christ in a deeper more spiritual way.

They have room for about 20 guest in a small house, that they live in too, with a big back yard. In the yard they have a 'yurt' that they bought to use as a prayer tent. A yurt is a old traditional house of the mongolian nomads, they used them because of their mobility. It is a large round tent with a hole in the top that you can open or close. It is made of wood supports with a white canvas around the outside.

The retreat is set on the hillside of a small village. They don't have a car so we have to walk up and down the hill about 1 km every time we go into town but the most trying was when we first arrived and had to carry our fifty pound packs up the hill in 90 degrees. Talk about a workout!

We have been keeping busy so far. We have a strict schedule for every day. Half of my team is working at the children's bible camp and the others are preparing for the retreat groups coming later this month. Yard work, painting fences and decorating the prayer tent are filling our days. We are setting up a 24/7 prayer station in the yurt so we have been shopping for supples, trying out different ideas and next week we will paint pictures on the white sheets for the different prayer stations. Two other teammates and I will be leading the prayer retreat. I'm excited to be learning how to lead other people in prayer but also nervous as I have not done anything like this before. I  have faiththat God will grant me confidence and He will use me to show others His glory.

All though the summer days here are very hot, tomorrow's forecast is for 107 degrees. It is a beautiful country with a lot of art and culture. I feel God moving here and hope that I can be a part of God's plan for this great land.
