…My Calling
Thank you for visiting my blog. I'm so blessed to have wonderful people supporting me in my God given desire to bring people closer to God and to teach about Jesus’ saving grace. I give a big thanks to those who have decided to be a part of my mission financially and prayerfully. If it wasn't for you I would not be able to participate in what God is calling me to do. THANK YOU! It is an honor to know that others are with me in what God is doing in all the nations around the world.
Some people say "Why does God let this bad stuff happen?” Now I don't pretend to know all the answers but I do know that God doesn't want bad things to happen to hurt us but to help us. What's God's plan? God's plan for the world is US, as Christians we are the hope of the world but only though him. God calls US to care for the poor, vulnerable and weak. It is as simple as that. What a weight on my shoulders! How can God expect us to fix all the worlds problems? He doesn't. Not by ourselves only by experiencing the love of God we can learn how to love like he does. God has no other plan but to use us (his followers) to build His Kingdom. Amazing isn't it?
The work that I am about to embark on is part of God's plan, so I encourage you to pray about becoming part of this ministry. There are a lot of people who can’t or wouldn’t ever consider spending 11 months living out of a backpack, sleeping God knows where (literally!), eating things you're not sure are even edible, going days without a shower and seeing the most heart breaking things you can ever imagine and being helpless to change it. But that doesn't mean that they can't still make a difference and be a part of the missionary experience.
There are many ways you can be a part of God's plan. One is to partner with me financially so I will have the funds needed to live on during the race. We will be living off about 4 dollars a day (not including flights). I need to meet the deadlines as follows:
$3,500 – Due 5/7/2011 (2 weeks before Training Camp)
$6,500 – Due 6/17/2011 (2 weeks prior to my trip)
$11,000 – Due 10/1/2011 (End of 3 months on the field)
$15,500 – Total Due 1/1/2012 (End of 6 months on the field)
I pray and trust that the Lord will help me raise enough funds so that I won't have to leave the race prematurely. If you feel God leading you to join with me in this ministry you can donate by clicking the "Support Me" tab on the left. You can give a one time amount donation or a monthly donation (starting now until Dec. 2011). Monthly donations are good because you can give as little as $15 a month which adds up to $90 in six months and most anyone can afford that. Of course if you can afford to give more it will be much appreciated. Whatever you choose please note that if you use a credit card the credit card company takes 5% of your donation. You also can send a cheque by using the ‘mail’ option.
Another way to be part of God's plan is by prayer. Please remember to pray for me and my team regularly as we head out to the unknown to share the good new of the Gospel to all the nations. Thank you for your support and prayers. May God bless you for the good work you do for all people.
