Yah, Garret and Lauren, our squad leaders are here to visit us. They came from Sofia, Bulgaria where they were visiting another team. Ivan took us to the hot springs last night. It was nice to relax and enjoy ourselves after a hot week. There was a swimming pool and a hot pool with green algae growing in it which is suppose to be good for your skin. It made my skin peel.

This morning Ivan brought over a traditional Bulgarian breakfast. I enjoyed a pastry like bread with cheese in it.

For the last week we have been busy stripping. Now, before you get any crazy ideas, we were stripping the bark off logs for Ivan who is going to use them to build a house. One of my team mates wrote a good analogy about her experience with the logs which you can read at:

As you have figured out by now we are not going to Greece. God has closed the doors for us. I’m defiantly  okay with it because we have had more opportunities to hang out with the teens and speak at Ivan’s church. The teens are  coming over on Friday for a movie night. They told us we will bring the movie if you bring the ice-cream. They have taken on the responsibility of showing us around their town and helping us with translation at stores and restaurants. They are really wonder young adults.

Last Saturday we spent our sabbath in Petrich. We went by ourselves without translators. It was a fun day of shopping in the market. We found the most delicious grapes and peaches I have ever had. We found a few other things that we needed then went out for lunch to a pizza place. I ordered my favorite, a pepperoni pizza. Guess what else was on it? Pickles. If you think that is weird, stuff that we normally only like to put on sandwiches they like to put on pizza for example the young adults put ketchup and mayo on their pizzas. I don’t know how they do it but I’m sure they think some of the stuff we eat is strange too. Afterwards we went to a Greece coffee shop and had a frappe and really sweet deserts. The best part of the day was when we found peanut butter at one of the stores. We have been looking for it for weeks so we felt like we hit the jack pot when we found it. To have something normal as peanut butter is a blessing when you are ten time zones away from home.

I pray that the next week will be filled with Gods glory as continue to share the love of Christ with the people of Bulgaria.
