Dear faithful blog readers,
Alright, so the rumors and pictures are true. Its official. Team changes did happen. We ditched Jesse and Derek in Estonia….which ergo means….
I am leading an all girls team! It’s great. It means we can officially run around in our underwear for team time whenever and can share all of each others clothes while eating chocolate and ice cream. Now, I’d like to preface how different this is than my last team. Fun fact, you can’t escape the horde of God-given, often emotional, and non stop female talking and questioning that comes from 6 females living together in a foreign country. I don’t think I’ve ever talked so much thus far on the race. They’ll probably know my story better than I know myself by the end of this. But, I thought you’d like to be introduced and perhaps even follow them and see what’s going on in their lives.
Meet Oralia:
Yes, the locals everywhere have just as hard of a time pronouncing it as you’d think. This fashionable babe packed almost entirely clothes—and I say this in complete gratitude, as she willingly shares. This chica is from New York City and Texas and knows how to dress the ‘world race’ style all the while basically being incredibly classy, hipster, and swag. She would love to go to the moon someday and stay there. She speaks two other languages and knows how to listen for Gods voice. Her testimony of healing is powerful, her walk with God is encouraging—yes, I do like this human.
Kim:
Ohhh Kim. A golden ray of sunshine
–Yes, she might not know how to operate an iphone, nor much technology for that matter, but she kicks my butt at Insanity. Work out buddy extrodinar and lover of chocolate cookies and owner of a motorcycle–this girl, from South Jersey (which is very different from North I’m told?) has a tendency to laugh an insane amount, and exudes this joy and trust of God. Bop, she’s great.
Amanda:
This 5’2’’ sassy apple has been with me since the beginning and believes Kansas is better than Colorado. Again, despite her obvious confusion, she makes the best homemade cinnamon rolls made to mankind. While your first impression may be, ‘oh, she’s kinnda quiet.’—ha, right, play a game of cards with her and watch her transform into the second most competitive person ever. She keeps me in line and insists that I’m a hippie that likes to cuddle far too much with her. But lets be real, I naturally adore her. She loves working with youth group kids and if basically teaching me the power of resting in God and organization in my life. ;).
Lindsey:
Cool fact, she is also from the state flowing with milk and honey. The promised land of Colorado. Probably the most ticklish person in the whole world, (seriously, not even kidding) and she is as obsessed with coffee as I am. She’s a gem who loves camps, being outside, and knows how to simply sit still and listen to the voice of God . Random fact…she’s afraid of elevators, but powers through.
Katie:
Katie = adventures and shenanigans. Seriously, this girl is one of those nocturnal human beings that can operate on little sleep and still smile throughout the day. She’s been with me since the beginning. We share a love of camp and chacos (umm yes, this is a big deal.) She loves people and ice cream on any occasion.
So there you have it. A new team of six women who are passionate about seeking God now and evermore. We are currently in Latvia working at a church teaching english lessons and working with the youth. Follow their blogs, lift us up in prayer–and keep posted on the amazing things God is doing to do with this team.
