Talents: Incredibly smart, understands English, man of few words till he gets comfortable around you.
Fun Facts: When you ask him a question about how is day is going and he responds with “huh?” It means he is having a pretty good day. Or at least I think because he responded like that to most questions. Also we got to see him open up to us a little and sing some songs and read a little out of the Bible.
Kim Soo
Height: 5’9″
Position: Power Forward
Talents: Knows just about every song in the daily dancing videos, loves to look at himself in pictures and is fascinated with technology.
Fun Facts: I have a video on my phone of him singing an entire song and the whole time he thought I was just taking a picture of him. Pretty good singer if I say so myself.
Kimberly
Height: 5’2″
Position: Point Guard
Talents: This little lady can break it down on the dance floor. Every time there would be music, she would be grooving to the beat. She was also one of the most happy and caring people I have ever met.
Fun Facts: She would give up her chair and move so that all her friends could sit where they would like. I got to sit next to her for a little bit at our going away dinner and she loved it when I rocked her chair back and forth. She laughed so hard every time I would do it.
Samuel (Aka Sammy Sosa)
Height: 5’9″
Position: Small Forward
Talents: One of the best badminton players in Malaysia… hands down. Knows at least 4 languages. Very good at English. Has a huge heart and helps all of his friends out at the Siloam house with whatever they need.
Fun Facts: I got to work with Sammy on his English because one day he wanted to know everyone’s name and write it on his little sheet of paper he kept in his pocket. He also loved the camera and having pictures taken of himself.
Sherli
Height: 5’3
Position: Shooting Guard
Talents: She is blind but it is kind of hard to tell sometimes because she knows the Siloam house so well. Has one of the most contagious laughs I have ever heard. Always so happy and would always love to dance to the daily workout/dance videos.
Fun Facts: Whenever we would see Sherli in the morning I would say, “Good morning Sherli” and she would respond “Good morning” and I would ask “How is your day going?” and she always had a big smile on her face and said “Fine”.
Carlvin
Height: 5’5″
Position: Coach
Talents: This list could go on for daysss. Carlvin knew just about every word to every song we played. He was very good at English and was fluent in 2 others. Maybe 3. He would work with us in the lime groves and never complain. He just always wanted to be around us. He loves rock songs. Haha.
Fun Facts: He would sing and play games with us every day. He took the time to learn everyone’s names and say good morning to each one of us. Loved playing outside and running around. Also whenever anyone brought out their phones he would run over and say “you play rock song?” We have an awesome video of him singing and dancing to
Weng Fi
Height: 5’4″
Position: Mascot
Talents: Pretty incredible dancer. Professional picture looker and magazine licker. Singer to every worship song played.
Fun Facts: Whenever he would be sitting in HIS chair he would be looking at HIS magazine. No one was allowed to look at his magazine and he made that very clear with a big lick to the cover each time he picked it up. Would dance for probably 1.5 to 2 hours each day.
Joshua
Height: 5’10″
Position: Sideline Reporter
Talents: Ripping shirts and clapping. Also a professional laugher.
Fun Facts: Joshua has autism and never liked to have the collar of his shirt close to his neck, so he would rip his new shirt every day. His laugh after being tickled or mimicked was priceless. He also loved to have his back scratched and smell anything new.
