Hello my dear family and friends, first off I just want to say thank you for taking time out of your busy day to read this letter. Over the past year I have felt God calling to one of the deepest parts of my heart, helping others and spreading His word through ministry. For too long, I pushed away from this calling thinking that it would just go away. I was wrong. Over the past four months God pressed this issue on my heart harder than ever! As most of you know, my heart has been called to nursing. Once I obtain my nursing degree my goal in life is to do mission medicine. With that being said, I’m not quite sure what area of the world I want to practice medicine, but have a feeling that this trip will help me understand if I truly do and where I might like to help others. Finally I gave in to God’s calling, and applied for a program called the World Race that some of my dearest friends have been on.
The World Race is an eleven month mission trip where I will be doing God’s work in eleven countries. The countries that I will be working in are Colombia, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Thailand, Cambodia, Japan, Malaysia, Swaziland, Botswana, and last South Africa. Now this route may change due to God’s Will, but I believe wherever He takes me is where I’m needed. I will be leaving for this journey in July 2014. The work that I will be doing while I’m gone can consist of many different things. One week I might be teaching English to children, then the next I could be helping the locals construct a building for their ministry. It might even go as far as helping create a sports camp for the local kids to participate in. During each month, there will be constant opportunities to preach God’s Word to those who have never been able to hear it.
After going through the interview process and getting accepted to the Race, I believe this is where God wants me to be right this second. I believe He will provide the money that I need to go do His work. Saying this, my total goal to raise is $16,252. This is where you, my family and friends, come into play. Every little bit that you can support helps. I cannot do this without you, whether it be a one-time donation or a monthly donation.
