The world tries to tell us that we are worthless, unwanted, and alone. The world tells us that our identity and worth is in school, money, looks, and people. But Jesus says something else. If we have asked forgiveness for our sins and surrendered our lives to him, we take on a new identity. An identity that only he can give us, no one else can. I still struggle with believing parts of who he has made me to be because of how radical our identity is in him, but here is the raw truth. This not to glorify myself because all the things written below only come from the Lord, this is meant to remind myself of who I am in Christ and to bring glorify to his name. Anything “good” that people see within me isn’t me, it’s Jesus in me. This is my identity statement. This is who I am IN CHRIST and solely BECAUSE OF CHRIST

My name is Colleen Patricia Davis and I am who God says I am.

I am enough.

I have been handpicked for his purpose. I am a princess. I am a precious daughter, who has been fought-for, and adopted. I am more than a pretty face.  I am strong and courageous because Jesus was first. I love others because he first loved me.

I am enough.

My papa is my savior, he died for me and loves me even though I mess up daily. I trust him with my life and he trusts me to do his work daily. I am unfinished. I Iove him, but he loves me so much that he sent his son to die just so he and I could have a relationship.

I am enough.

I am as bold as a lion, and I have chosen to be baptized to show it. I am fearless and cared for. I boast, but only in the Lord. I pray, but only to the Lord. I forgive, but only through the Lord.

I am enough.

I am made pure in his name. He accepted me even in my faults and rejoices over me with sweet songs.

I am enough.

I am an encourager, I am a hard worker, I am dedicated, I am committed, but only because he created me that way. I am unique, I am cherished, I am a prized possession,  but only because he formed me that way. I am empowered, important, and beautiful but only because he made me that way.

I am enough.

I am a servant: ambassador of the Lord.

I am a foreigner: a citizen of heaven living on earth.

I am a missionary: obeying his calling to share the Good News in every opportunity that he presents me with (at home or overseas).

I am enough.

I am an example of Christ’s love but only because I am unmistakably different then this world through Jesus. I  am a light, not THE light. I am salt but not THE salt. I’m simply a “voice shouting in the wilderness, Clear the way for the Lord’s coming.” (John 1:23) I AM MEEK! I hold the power of Christ’s resurrection within me. I am a woman with value beyond my beauty. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

I am enough.

I’m a follower of the last high priest, and the final sacrificial lamb. I am a servant leader, because Jesus first served and then lead.

I am enough.
