One day at ministry (11.8.18) Gogo Sweetness pulled our team into a shack like church filled with two women, plastic black chairs, and rich fabric draped across the stage. She said “go pray now” in her broken English. She we followed her lead went into the church and sat down.

I must admit walking in I figured it would be another church that was taking the Bible out of context, preaching a different gospel, and was biblically untrue. But God must have laughed in my face when those expectations crossed my mind, because I was totally wrong.

The woman up front switched out of Sisswati and began speaking very good English. This woman was spitting straight truth with such assurance and a gentle boldness, so clearly of the Lord. We began reading the story of where Jesus calms the storm in Matthew. It was so cool because I had just read that in my decks a few days prior. This woman was so clearly on fire for the Lord and was sharing so many revelations through such a well known story. It was so sweet because in now way did I feel looks down upon by here while she was teaching. I felt comfortable and that I could trust he things she was saying.  (Also side note, she was translating for herself because her mother, who only speak Sisswati was also there. How cool is that?!?). After she finished speaking we prayed over her, her mother, and the church.

After we walked out I really felt like I should continue talking with this woman, Bogi. So I sat down on a bench with her and I learned a little about her life story, but the coolest part was that we were just sharing what God has been teaching us recently and that was so incredibly sweet! I just felt like she was one of my good friends and we were catching up, just sharing truth with each other and reminding each other of how good our papa is.

This woman was so grounded in truth, unshakable faith, and so faithful to the Lord. I mean the fact that only her and her mother showed up to church but they decided to still have it! That is so encouraging because I know myself I may have just said, “well now one else came, so we might as well just go home”

God worked that out so well because I meet a true Cece (sister in Sisswati) in Christ! I was so incredibly encouraged by her and am so thankful for her because I’m sure God will use her in big ways.
