With all the witchcraft and satanic worship here some people questioned if we would celebrate Halloween while here in Swazi. But nothing will stop U Squad from having an awesome party and celebrating life together.
In the morning, some people prayed over the whole compound that we are living on and covered it in the blood of Jesus, so we had nothing to fear, besucase we se e fighting from victory bit for victory. God has already defeated death (Satan) and holds all power over him.
Grace Davis and Sarah Zest planned an amazing party after ministry on Wednesday. It was a costume party which was TONS of fun! My team (team joy) and the guys (team okoniomos) dressed up as each! It’s was so funny!
Liz, Sophie and I had come up with it the does he night before at around 10 pm (I was shocked we were still awake, we go to bed around 8:30 here haha) however we didn’t know if all the guys were going to be into it.
So in the morning we pulled a couple of them to the side to ask their thoughts and they loved it, but didn’t know if the other guys would be on board with wearing skirts and whatnot.
So we left for ministry, as per usual, and while we were there we texted the boys “Halloween costume?” But we got no response! (We thought about double texting, but decided against it haha)
When we got back to the compound after ministry we talked to the boys and Caelum said he did text back, low and behold, he had, we just didn’t hear the phone go off. They were all on board! So we quickly swapped clothes and started talking about how we were going to impersonate each other.
- Lillian asked everyone if they needed prayer, while Tall Sam attempted to have good check bones in all the pictures.
- Liz tatted up her arm, while Caelum did sign language
- Julie played with a lighter while Caleb carried around a Yeti water bottle and talked about nursing
- Colleen was super excited and hype all night while Fish vlogged and said “like” every other word along with “am I right ladies?” (I’ve started saying that all the time since being here, I’m not sure why.)
- Sophie wore a Bethel shirt, got an arm tat and talked about singing all night while Nate made Sophie’s signature face (side kissy face) and said “I’m gonna write a blog about that”
- Madeline was a straight gangster and addressed everyone by name every time she talked to someone and carried around an aero press, while Layton talked about being clean, and had good posture all night.
The rest of the night was full of jokes, spot on impersonations and funny memories. During the party we had popcorn, hot chocolate, and a dance off.
We went up against the guys and it was super fun because we imitated their dance from our training camp dance off. (We ended up beating the guys haha)
We went trick or treating for candy and encouragement. The room was candle lit (since we don’t have electricity) which made it feel more like fall and Halloween. There were also little paper decorations of ghosts hanging from the ceiling beams!
It was certainly a night to remember! For some reason I can upload all the pictures on here, so go and look on my insta: coll_davis37
