What exactly is the World Race?

The World Race is a mission trip that travels to eleven countries in eleven months. My team and I will be traveling to each country doing volunteer work while spreading the word of God. The eleven countries are (but subject to change): Costa Rica,Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala, Maylasia, Thailand, Cambodia, Phillipines, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya.

What will you be doing?

I wish I could tell you exactly what I will be doing but I don’t think I will know until we get to each country. From reading blogs of people already on the race, here is what I have gathered; construction work (anywhere from building houses, schools, orphanages), visiting orphanages, working with individuals in human trafficking, working at medical clinics, etc. While doing this we will interact with the locals to share the word of God. This mission trip is truly about being the hands and feet of Christ. Although some days will be more relaxed. We will get the opportunity to explore each country and experience each culture first hand. Everyday will look different on the race.

Are you excited about your trip?

Words cannot possibly express how I feel. I feel like I have already fallen in love with these countries that I have never been to. Backpacking, hiking, experiencing new cultures, making friendships, doing ministry work while becoming closer to my faith..excited could not begin to cover it.

Where will you be staying while visiting each country?

This may be different in each country. Some times we might have a host family who opens their doors to us. Sometimes I might be living out of the tent that I am taking. I wouldn’t think of this trip as a vacation, no five star hotels involved.

Are you aware of how dangerous this might be?

Something that I have learned in my faith is how to be fearless. I would not be going on this trip if God had not called me to. I trust that I will be safe as I am doing his will. Truthfully, I am more scared of fundraising than I am of traveling to these countries.

The World Race is ran through Adventures in Missions. This organization would not send us somewhere if our safety was truly at risk. I tell people that my route is subject to change for just these reasons.

Now, lets talk numbers..

$16,561 – The cost of the trip itself.

Here is how that number is broken down:

– 2% to Training Camp

– 4% to Field Support

– 12% WR Development Progam

– 17% Administration Fees

– 65% World Racer

Here is how the 65% is broken down:

– 11% for Transportation

– 12% for Long distance travel and Misc. Supplies

– 13% for food

– 19% for Lodging

– 45% for Intercontinental Travel

Deadlines for fundraising:

$5,000 – Due 7/22/2016 (Deadline Met. Met with the help of about 10 supporters and a few fundraisers).
$10,000 – Due 9/16/2016 (Not Met)
$13,000 – Due 11/30/2016 (Not Met)
$16,561 – Due 1/31/2017 (Not Met)

What happens if I do not meet those deadlines?

If I do not meet the deadlines above I will need to pick a different route that leaves at a later date to allow more time for fundraising.

What happens to your donation should I chose not to go?

On the 0.0000000001% (which only stems from life throwing unexpected curve balls) chance that I chose not to travel the world in the most exhilarating way your donation will go to Adventures in Missions. Your money would not be given back to you. I have faith that I will be fully funded, I ask you to believe the same.
