Hey everybody! Sorry it’s been so long since my last post. I must admit that my mind has been very distracted lately. However, I’m back with a new post about what God is teaching me on this journey to the world race! So I’ve been struggling lately with fundraising. It’s a difficult process for me, as I am not used to asking people for money. Especially not those that I don’t have a very frequent relationship with. Today in church, God gave me three opportunities to connect with people about the race. It was through these encounters, and through some thoughts during the sermon that I realized God is taking me outside my comfort zone. I knew this would happen, but for some reason only expected the uncomfortable to come on the race. More and more I am realizing that there is a tremendous amount of truth to the idea that the journey is more important than the destination. The journey prepares you for the destination, and God walks alongside you the whole way. Challenging you, so that you can be who you need to be when you reach the end. He is at work in my life, changing my nature, breaking me out of my shell, and bringing me closer to Him! He is pushing my boundaries, so that I may learn to live closer to Him and His image. “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7. He may push you out of your comfort zone, but He has given us a spirit to handle it! He puts us in these situations, that we may see there is no need to be uncomfortable! So, to anyone being pushed outside their comfort zone, I urge you to thank God for challenging you. And to those who do not often find themselves outside of their comfort zone, I urge you to step out, and grow! In regards to fundraising comfort zones, I am glad that God is creating these situations to grow closer to my church community, my family, and my friends. He is bringing people into my life, that believe in our Lord, and that believe in me! Thanks for reading, and God bless!
