It's me, Colin. I miss you and I am overwhelmed with gratitude when I think of all the family and friends supporting our life here and praying for us as we go. Thank you cannot be said enough but I will keep saying it because even though it cant be said enough it would still be rude to not say it at least once. Was that a run on sentence? Was that a complete sentence? Fragments are easier.
- We are English teachers for Cambodian kids and adults and it has exposed a lack of understanding of my own language.
- I hate grammar, still. So do Cambodian kids so I can tell they are starting to understand our language. We make fun of grammar a lot together. Sorry grammar! (I'm not really sorry though)
- No running water.
- No toilets
- Our contact is the man. Beautiful Cambodian man who has a wife and a child and lives with 20 people in his house and teaches English and bible studies out of his house.
- I love that man
- God loves us, you and them like crazy
- I live an incredibly comfortable life in America and I think I hate it but right now it sounds easier.
- I am not very flexible. (see point #4)
- I got sick for 3 days and don't know why.
- Cambodia's countryside is absolutely gorgeous
- Rice fields everywhere
- I learned to drive a motor bike (vespa, basically)
- SO MUCH RICE
- Sweat is constant
- Rain brings the breeze so we love rain
- Cambodians are resourceful and I am not.
- My wife is an absolute gift and I treasure her.
- I will miss this place and the people
I probably said too much but I probably didn't say enough, either. You win some and you lose some but you definitely miss 100% of the shots you don't take.
I love you guys and thank you for reading and if you have any questions about our life or how we are doing then please post questions here, email us!
We love hearing from you and feeling included on your lives so please send us a message if you want someone to vent to because we will read it and love it.
You are loved,
Colin
