rewind to Wednesday, two days ago…
I was grabbing my Nalgene water bottle from my car after my super intense run, of course, the water in the bottle was as hot as it was outside. (I live in Tejas) Anyways, water is water. I consumed about 16oz then dumped the rest on my head. As I walked back to the trail I was in cool off mode. Rapping some Lecrae and dancing in the public with my hands over my head. I passed by a crusade of children learning how to ride their bikes with trainer sets on. So like anyone who sees kids I wave. 3 pass by and I am starting to think… these kids are sour… spread some love. Then the littlest boy of them all on his little trainer bicycle waves. As soon as he returned the love, everything went into slow-mo. The little dude was going down, he went off the blacktop into the gravel and completely wiped out. As I rush over to grab the little dude, pick him up and dust him off. He is sobbing harshly, with a small cut on his knee. I looked directly into the parent’s eye with tons of remorse for their child that totally ate it, “I am so so sorry”. Parents:”Oh no, don’t feel bad we came prepared. We have a whole bag full of band-aids, Neosporin, towelettes, water, liquid band-aids, etc. We knew our kids were going to totally wipe out.”
I felt so relieved as soon as I walked away from the Lil dude with a soon to be gnarly scar. I instantly thought of God and how he loves us. No matter what our story contains, he is always prepared to bring us home. All we need to do is call on him and he comes to the rescue each and every time. We are all his children, no matter what You, the world or the enemy believes. Tune into the true voice. God’s voice. He is here to be the light in your life when you wipe out completely in life, God is always prepared just like the parents of the little biker dude.
To sum it all up:
God & Lil biker dude are both Sweet, not Sour.
