A Vacation Bible School like no other. 220 Mozambiquan kids running out the front gate, with animal masks in hand shouting, ‘LIFE!’ Face painting, craft time, game time, bible stories, songs and even skits, all lead by 6 young men being trained to disciple the youth and work in the community. Six special men chosen to be apart of the Hope house, men that are given an education, special training, bible classes and big opportunities for their future. Futures that had no hope before Beacon of Hope brought them to this land, now they are full of possibilities.
We as a team have the priveledge and honor to work along side these guys, training them and preparing them as best we know how for the future. We are here to give them skills, english and on the job training that will make them stand out for better jobs, as well as teach them how to give back, love and follow Jesus.
A table full of string, loose beads and the potential for bracelets, our guys sat busy with their hands, making sure to make plenty for all the kids to have one. We shared the meaning behind each color. When we finished Cole explained evangelism to them and what that looked like with children. Soon they were asking to pray themselves the prayer of salvation, something they had never done. Cole lead all 6 men in prayer, as they formally confessed their sins to God and to one another.
David, Josa, Isaiah, Alfredo, Wilson, Jokee are all men of God that are going to be apart of changing this nation for Jesus. We feel so honored to work with them, and see God reveal Himself to them. This is our family, who we love very much.
