Passing through a crowd of people, there are a sea of faces. Most asian,
some white and few others. Some here working, others traveling, some shopping,
some selling. All in wonder. More than once foreigners will walk by and give a
look I can only describe as disgusting. A look that makes you go cold and get
angry. A look that devalues the viewed. A look that seems all to familiar here.
Today I felt devalued, today I felt like an empty body with no spirit. Today I
felt like property. Today I understood the worth these girls sold in brothels
feel. We looked out our bedroom window and saw lights dimly lit inside a
‘massage’ parlor. A parlor that looked abandoned with their sign hidden by
darkness, but heavily guarded by a madam as men entered. A building no more
than a football fields distance from where we are sleeping. A building full of
working girls, girls that will not find sleep for hours. My heart was broken
for the lack of worth given to these girls. The lack of love, the lack of
value. I am here not to be angry at the Johns’ or to be angry at the madams. I
am here to be angry for the sin, the situation and to fight for justice. I will
surround this City, this Country and this Nation with aggressive, fervent
prayers. Please join us as we see God moving and working to break down the
chains these people are bound by.
