stairs and english classes. For three weeks our team of seven taught two Engish
classes Monday thru Friday. On the weekends we would play soccer with the
students. We also taught a youth group and adult bible study. This church that
housed our enlgish classes became our home base. From there we did home visits
with the pastor. Visiting believers and unbelievers alike, encouraging, praying
and loving on.
We lived at the Phnom Pehn
YWAM base, and here made many friends with local missionaries. Vuthy, our tuk
tuk driver originally, became an honorary team member. He willingly became our
translator, friend and play mate. He joined us in team activities and taught us
lots about humility. A man that started driving YWAMers around years ago,
became a Christian after watching all these people do things abnormal, like
playing with young children and showing love to all people. He joined the
discipleship training program and continued to learn more about Jesus and His
love for His people. Vuthy returned home to his village with no other
Christians present, He started a church and is inviting people in to help him
build an orphanage. This man taught himself english through a Khemr/ English
bible and is now teaching 150 students a day english.
Please continue to pray for
Cambodia, for the church we left to continue to grow and reach out to the
surrounding community including several neighboring brothels.
For the soup kitchen we
served in, handing out food to the disabled, elderly, homeless and needy young
street children . For the Aids hospital we visited often. That their lives
would continue to be touched through acts of service but also by the Holy
Spirit who is present and actively at work in that place. (I love that the Holy
Spirit speaks all languages)
For the English classes we
taught in, that the students would be open to their teachers love and
faithfulness to serve them. That Jesus light would shine through the godly man
that stays and teaches weekly.
Please pray that God would provide the funds for his dreams and the hands to
help run it. That God would bless his servants heart.
