Hello! My name is Colby Wayenberg, and I am beyond excited to have this opportunity!
I am 24 years old and recently graduated from Whitworth University in Spokane, with my Masters of Business Administration. My goal for studying business has always been to work for a missions organization, like Compassion International or World Vision. For the past two years, I have been working for an international non-profit called Partners International as their Communications Coordinator. They partner with indigenous ministries in the 10/40 window, which is the least reached area of the world.
When I’m not working or in school, I love doing anything outdoors – backpacking, hiking, kayaking, and photography. I have a wonderful family – my parents and my younger sister – who have always been incredibly supportive of this dream, for which I will always be grateful.
I first heard about the World Race five years ago, and it has been a part of my life plan ever since. I have been on several short-term mission trips, and even had an internship at a ministry in Mexico City for a summer, but I have never done something this long-term or intense. I’m looking forward to seeing how God uses this year to grow me in my faith, and in my relationship with Him!
