SIX months until launch??? WOW. I have seen Jesus so clearly throughout this process of committing to the Race and going through the fundraising side of things. I want to share what Jesus has been teaching me recently, but I also want to give you guys an update on where I am as far as funding and what that looks like, as well as ways to be specifically praying for my team.
I have spent the last seven days in Costa Rica and what a blessing it was. It was a glimpse into what the Race is going to be like in different ways and I feel as though Jesus allowed and put certain obstacles in my way to better prepare me for September 5th. I was reminded of His faithfulness, specifically in the light of travel plans. I was reminded that although I was not going to Haiti as planned, I was and am still called to serve, no matter where I am- Huntsville, Haiti, Costa Rica, South Africa, Ecuador, Cambodia, or anywhere He sends me.
One of the members of my team shared this scripture and I wanted to share it with you: “Now the Lord said to Abram, ‘Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. And I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.'” Genesis 12:1-3. That was a reminder to me to JUST GO, when He says go. I am called to walk in obedience and when I do and when you do, He will bless you in a way that you are able to bless others. So wherever you feel Him calling you to go, go- walk in obedience today.
I am continuing to fundraise- I have raised $9,443 and what a PRAISE that is. I have to have $10,000 to launch and go on the field, and I am almost there! It is my goal to be fully funded by September 5th, and I am believing in Jesus for that, but it takes a village and people like you helping. If you have a small group or are involved in missions at your church, I would love to come speak! Please let me know.

Lastly, PRAYER. I have seen throughout this process more than ever the POWER of prayer. If I can be praying for YOU in any way, let me know. I want to share something specific that you can be praying for Route 5 specifically: Please be praying for my team and I to be UNIFIED by the blood of Jesus and to become ONE. I have seen recently that there is nothing worse than being on a team, sharing the Gospel, and your team being divided. I firmly believe in the power of community within the church and within a body of believers. In Jesus name, TODAY, and everyday, I am believing that Jesus is going to do a work through all of us and we will be UNITED under Jesus as ONE.
