Hey friends and family! Before I introduce you to my team that I will be serving with, I want to give you an update on fundraising. My next deadline is only 8 days away! I am blown away by all the love and support I have received throughout this process, and God has been so faithful the entire time. With that being said, I still need $1,695 to reach the next deadline. Even the smallest donation helps to impact not only my life, but the lives of homeless children, victims of abuse and sex trafficking, orphans, and so many others that God wants to heal. Thank you so much for even considering being a part of this mission.
Now let’s meet my team that I will be leaving for the Philippines with in just 21 days!!!!
First, quick shout out to the 37 amazing, Jesus-loving people on O SQUAD. We will be traveling together and serving in the same countries. God really put together a great group of people that I can’t wait to continue learning from and growing with. However, to cover more ground and share the Good News with as many people as possible, we are split into six teams and spread out throughout the country.
I am SO excited about my team. Each one of us brings a unique set of gifts that will work together beautifully to further the Kingdom. We named our team the “Freedom Runners.” The main reason behind this is we loved the analogy of being like a wolfpack. One of our teammates, Jenny, found a real wolfpack named the Freedom Runners, and it kind of just stuck. Why a wolfpack? Wolfs are a prime example of what it looks like to work as a team.
-They stick together no matter what
-They develop a strategy and execute it to the best of their ability
-They are relentless
-They understand each other’s strengths and weaknesses and adjust accordingly
-They lead from the back of the pack; encouraging, motivating, and being a steady source of reliability and trust for those ahead of them
-They are patient
-They are FAMILY
We also loved the idea of freedom. That is the whole reason we are going on this mission, to share the freedom that we have found in Christ. So let’s meet the Freedom Runners! If you take a look at the picture, I will introduce them from left to right.
Theophilus- He has a deep desire to share the Gospel. He is very knowledgeable and courageous, and will undoubtedly motivate all of us to grow in our faith and step out of our comfort zones to continue sharing God’s love.
Jenny- She loves the Lord so much. She is a reliable vessel of encouragement and confidence. She will help our whole team to grow closer together, so that we can share God’s love with others better.
Jacob- He has a great ability to trust and obey the Lord. His humility and wisdom are traits that represent the life of Jesus, and he will continually point our team and the people we are serving to a life of fulfillment in Christ.
Abby- She is in constant pursuit of the Lord and His presence. Her desire to seek God through Scripture is something that will influence all of us, and she will continually encourage us to learn from and live like Jesus.
Shawn- He has a special ability to hear from the Holy Spirit and speak truth into people. God will certainly use him as a vessel to reach people’s hearts and speak life into those who desperately need to hear from the Lord.
Lauren- She has been gifted with an extraordinary amount of compassion and grace. She loves like Jesus, and her ability to provide a level of trust and safety for people to be raw and honest will certainly open the door to life-changing conversations and encounters with the Lord.
Cody- He is unbelievably blessed to be able to serve the nations with these amazing people!
Please be praying for us as we begin serving in the Philippines in just three weeks! Love y’all!
