My wife is amazing!
You know, it’s been a long time since I last wrote a blog. Thanks to my AMAZING WIFE, our blog has been somewhat kept up with. I mean, we’re not amazing bloggers or anything, but at least we have a number of blogs that people can read, right? And it’s all because my AMAZING WIFE has worked hard to make it that way.
Here’s the thing about my AMAZING WIFE: She works pretty hard. In the winter, I start slowing down in hours because I work on the farm and don’t have as much to do. So lately, my AMAZING WIFE has been working more hours than I have and still has had diligence to get things done not only around the house but for our World Race efforts as well. I think if there’s a sluggard in this house, it’s not my AMAZING WIFE, it’s me.
Proverbs 13:4 says (NET), “The appetite of the sluggard craves but gets nothing, but the desire of the diligent will be abundantly satisfied.” LORD, help me to be the man that naturally I am not, help me to be a hard worker and not a sluggish lazy man, mold me into something AMAZING like my WIFE!
You see, the sluggard in me wants more. He wants to read his Bible, he wants to pray more, he wants to be in constant touch with the Holy Spirit, and he wants more of Jesus! But is desire enough? Is want alone enough? NO! So what must we do? We must “go to the ant,” we must “consider her ways and be wise,” we must do something about our carnal sluggishness! True and undefiled religion REQUIRES ACTION.
So, to my AMAZING WIFE: I REALLY LOVE YOU! You are an inspiration to me. I hope we can both together grow more diligent in our journey with God. And I thank you for being such an AMAZING WIFE. I know you’ll say, “Yeah but… I’m not an amazing wife because of… I haven’t… I’m not as good as you’re making it sound.” Well, you’re wrong. You are an AMAZING WIFE. There’s so much more to you than you may realize.
You’re the harder worker between the two of us, and I’m talking in general, so stop trying to say otherwise. You’re in love with me, and I can’t thank you enough. You have the same thoughts as I do concerning giving up our worldly desires so that we can grow rich in God’s kingdom. You’re still in love with God just as much as you ever have been, despite your doubts. You’re in love with people, and I am jealous. I wish I could be “half the man” that you are concerning being in touch with the rest of Christ’s body. You will not let anyone get in the way between your relationship with God and yourself – you experience things the way you experience them and that’s okay, because it is your relationship.
Anyway, I could go on, but I need to go to lunch. I just wanted everyone to know what an AMAZING LOVE I have!!
