It is here! The journey has officially begun. No more training, no more preparation. Tonight I will be sleeping in Panama. It is a crazy thought to think and reflect back on how the Lord has led me to this point.
When my team was formed at the end of training camp, one of our first things we did together was listening prayer exercise many have called a treasure hunt that was familiar to me. This is simply a time dedicated to hearing from the Spirit, evaluating what He showed us, and as we walked around the city, seeing if any of those things matched. We didn’t have much testimony that day but we had no idea that exercise would be prophetic of this month ahead.
My team has been given the opportunity this month to participate in a program the World Race calls, Unsung Heroes. The program’s vision is to connect and network with Unsung Heroes (men and women who rarely receive recognition for their dedication to serve in impoverished populations) in an effort to come alongside them and provide lift to their efforts to further the Kingdom. This program will allow my team to identify persons that are working in ministries and assess how we can best serve them and evaluate a potential for host status. This program in part is how the World Race expands their network of host ministries in hopes of one day creating a full-time relationship in which the World Race could send teams there continuously. Usually the World Race does not give teams UH the first month but I think it says a lot about what leadership thinks of our team. We do not have a list of potential ministries to try or leads. Because of this, the first three days we will be staying in a hostel to pray and seek the Lord for guidance on this month. Also in these three days, it will give us time to go out into the local town and network with people with hopes of gaining leads. For my team and I, we are on a treasure hunt for this month.
This is a win-win to me. If they don’t have knowledge of any ministries or churches around, I still get to bring up Jesus in the process. I cannot tell you how excited I am for this month. I feel like it will be a huge momentum month for my team. There are many unknowns and no guarantees but that sounds a lot like trust to me. We have been put in a vulnerable place and as our team as talked, everyone is in agreement that apart from Him we can do nothing. I am eager and expectant of what God will do this month! Looking foward to writing my next blog to you in Panama!
Prayer Requests:
-Intentional intimacy with God and with my team
-That the Father would give me a spirit of YES!
-Gratitude
