Well month two is over and we are sitting in the Moscaw airport. This month our ministry was more labor-intensive than spiritual. We were at a camp doing maintenance – everything from welding basketball rims to clearing trees in areas. We were really blessed with a nice house to live in, with hot showers, washing machine, and stove.
One of the things I most enjoy at home is milk. I like to drink at least two liters a day while I am at home. Come to find out that this is not a common commodity in these countries we have been too. Never the less I continually sought it out I have probably purchased ten different containers of milk that were sour, chunky, and smelled awful. Still, I kept searching!
About the second week at the camp in Sistarovat, Romania, I Asked my contact if he knew where I could get some real milk.
He was like, “Yes” and told me about a neighbor that sold fresh cow milk. I was so excited. When I bought the milk it was still warm from the cow it was that fresh. After letting it cool down in the fridge I took a swig, and it was the best milk I have ever had. From then on I could order as much milk as I wanted and every night at nine my contact would come by with the milk.
This insistence showed me something else really cool which can be related to my walk in Christ. When we decide to start seeking the Lord out, everything is not easy and we do not always get things right the first time. However, if we persistently want and seek after it, when God does give us what we were seeking for it will be better than what we imagined or what we had before.
So I guess to sum things up, my experience this month is that in everyday life we have to seek the Lord with our whole heart. While things may not show up right away, when they come it will be sweet and with an endless supply. It we want to be spiritual we have to work for it and pray for it.
